Thank You

Dear Friends,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing the extraordinary journey of this campaign with me. Without your support, and the invaluable contributions you have made to this campaign, we would not have made the impact we did on NJ’s 26th legislative district, despite not getting the primary win.

The fact that our team of advisers, supporters, and volunteers include so many people who had never even heard my name before March, and yet rallied to our cause with such passion and dedication, is perhaps the most incredible aspect of this experience; it is why I will consider this campaign a success regardless of Tuesday’s outcome.

Collectively, you have given us donated space to use as a campaign headquarters in the district; hours of expert advice and guidance on everything from the fine points of campaigning to the intricacies of policy and issues; and key introductions and connections that have allowed us to establish important relationships.

You opened your beautiful homes to us to host meet and greets; you distributed our lawn signs throughout the district. You have volunteered your time at our phone banks and knocked on doors for our canvasses. You have donated your hard-earned money, without which none of this could have been possible.

You have been the driving force behind our crucial social media campaign, sharing our posts and videos, spreading our message far and wide, creating Twitter Storms. You have written letters to the editor on my behalf and invited me to your banquets, meetings, forums and symposiums. You have provided me with opportunities to speak and network and reach more voters who wanted to hear our message.

Every municipal Democratic committee in the 26th district warmly welcomed us and some gave us public endorsements. Because of your support and efforts, we have been the subject of positive news stories and media coverage.

Of all these successes, I must say that one of our biggest “wins” occurred on a rainy morning in May when we held our Dress for Success clothing drive in Parsippany. Despite the weather, this event collected dozens of clothing donations for disadvantaged women trying to re-enter the workforce and generated the first media attention to raise the profile of the campaign. Without the support of those who provided us with a location, with publicity and literally, with shelter from the storm, this event would not have been a success.

I understood the risk of running without the party endorsement.  I have no regrets.  I am, however, saddened by the blind trust the voting public puts into the choices made for them by the party leaders.  I am committed to continuing to educate the public on how our system works, and what people can do to be sure they are truly represented.

It has been my honor and privilege to have earned your support. I don’t know what will be next for me in the public service arena but for those of us who want to effect true change, our work has barely begun.

Best Wishes,

Laura

Your Victory!

Hello Friends,

We’re in the homestretch. In less than one week, we will have the chance to bring real change to the New Jersey State Legislature but we can’t do it without your help. We need you to get out and vote on June 6th. Not only do we need your vote, but we need you to mobilize your networks. Whether it be by telling your friends, talking to your neighbors, or reminding your family, we all must educate those around us about the historic opportunity we have to finally send a Democrat to represent our district after decades of having our voices ignored. We have come so far over these past few months but to truly bring back common sense and transparency to our state government, we need to get out the vote.

DONATE NOW

As the primary approaches, I’d like to take a moment to express my gratitude to each and everyone one of you. It is a direct result of your effort and support that this campaign has continued to break ground and make great strides every week.

Throughout the campaign, I have had the privilege to meet
wonderful people who care about their state and work hard to be
engaged in the political process and have their voices heard on every level of government.

From the warm welcomes at every Democratic committee or club
in the district to the candidate’s forum put on by NJTogether New Jersey, it has been an honor to learn about the unique people of our district and the specific issues affecting them and their municipality.

Many long-standing and experienced political leaders have taken the time to mentor me and shorten my learning curve.  For this, I am both grateful and blown away by their generosity of time and spirit.

I have been honored to be in the rooms with the people who make things happen. Whether it be at the mayor’s breakfast in Caldwell, the Blue Wave NJ Gala or the South Asian Caucus Panel Discussion last night, I have had meaningful discussions with hard workers about how to effectively create positive change in New Jersey. I consider myself one
of the people who are part of the solution whether it’s been a family, community, business or leadership project and entering
the political arena is the next place for me to contribute.

The culminating moment of our hard work is less than a week away. Our campaign has energized the 26th district in ways many thought impossible. The grassroots activist community has come out in full force but to ensure that our voices are heard all the way down in Trenton every single one of us needs to get out the vote on June 6th.

In just a few days all of our hard work will be put to the test at the polls. Your $25 donation today can be the push we need to cross the finish line.

Hello Friends,

With just one month to go before New Jersey’s June 6th primary, we are in the countdown for what will be an historic election in New Jersey. As my team and I meet with voters around the 26th District, we hear your frustration with the political gamesmanship that prevents us from solving our most urgent problems, and we hear how ready you all are for responsible, transparent, accountable leadership that will bring common sense solutions to the many challenges facing our state.

I am thrilled to share my new campaign video with you.

High taxes. Opioid addiction. Our environment. These are the issues you care about. I want to be your voice in Trenton. I want to represent you in the state assembly with the courage and creativity needed to lower our taxes, improve our infrastructure, guarantee affordable health care for all of us, and protect our state from the troubling maneuvers of the Trump administration. But, I cannot do it without you. It was because of you, and your support, that I was able to stand up to the party bosses and energize Democrats across this district with my underdog campaign for state assembly. We can’t stop now. If I am to win the June 6th primary and take on the Republican incumbents who have been failing all of us for so long, I need your support.

Hello Friends,

If you’ve ever doubted that there is something special about New Jersey, all you have to do is observe the wave of progressive activism sweeping the Garden State. New Jerseyans are marching in the streets, organizing on social media, and road-tripping to Washington to make it clear to our representatives that we want to be represented.

We will not stand for the Trump administration’s assault on our ideals and values, and we will not tolerate legislators, at the federal or state level, who do not stand up for our interests and our rights.

This week, I was asked by a voter to explain why our Democratic lawmakers, who hold a majority in state government, cannot seem to hold the line against Chris Christie. This is why I am asking you to support my candidacy for state assembly in New Jersey’s 26th district.

We must restore a veto-proof Democratic majority in Trenton, but we also must elect Democrats who will stand up and fight for us, and end the backroom dealing and horse trading that put us in this position in the first place. Can the same legislators who refused to stand up to Chris Christie be counted on to take on Donald Trump?

I am ready to go to battle for you, but I need you to send me to the front lines.

Your contribution will enable us to continue our fight to restore transparency and accountability to New Jersey government and help our message reach more voters who, like you, are sick and tired of politics as usual.

Hello Friends,

As I travel around Morris and Essex Counties meeting with local organizations and citizens who are seeking positive change for New Jersey, what I hear over and over again from people is that they are sick and tired of politics as usual. This shared frustration with government is one of the reasons I am running for state assembly in New Jersey’s 26th District.

It has been incredibly gratifying to see New Jersey voters rising up to take back their state. While the party bosses told me to step aside and wait my turn, the voters I meet with every day have welcomed and embraced our grassroots campaign with enthusiasm and support.
